Mr. Guo Wenqing Met with Mr. Alexander Machkevitch, ERG Chairman

On March 28, Mr. Guo Wenqing, China Minmetals' President and MCC Chairman, met with Mr. Alexander Machkevitch, Chairman of Eurasian Resources Group S.a.r.l. (ERG), and his delegation, who came to visit. Both sides had an in-depth discussion about further strengthening their cooperation.

Mr. Guo Wenqing extended a warm welcome to Mr. Alexander Machkevitch and his delegation, and introduced the development status of China Minmetals and MMC, which both ranked among Fortune 500 companies, after the strategic recombination. After the strategic recombination, China Minmetals has integrated the whole industry chain of metal mining, from resources acquisition to prospecting, design, construction, mining, mineral separation, smelting, logistics and trade. It has acquired the ability to provide systematic solutions as well as integrated construction and operation services through the whole life cycle for metal mining companies. Meanwhile, China Minmetals, committed to creating a powerhouse in the metals and minerals industry that is "number one in China, and world-class", is enlisted in the first batch of companies with state-owned capital investment in the field of metal mining in China. The assets China Minmetals currently manages amount to RMB 1.86 trillion with its operation revenue in 2018 breaking through the mark of RMB 500 billion, its profits reaching a record high.

Mr. Guo Wenqing emphasized that ERG is a world-renowned company with a friendly cooperation history with China Minmetals. China Minmetals attaches great importance to ERG and is eager to deepen the cooperation with ERG as its business associate. Mr. Guo Wenqing expressed his hope that both parties would strengthen their exchanges, and accelerate the progress of current projects and that their cooperation would soon bear fruit in the exploitation of copper and chromium, among other domains, in order to achieve mutually beneficial results.

Mr. Alexander Machkevitch expressed his thanks for Mr. Guo Wenqing's warm welcome, and his appreciation and support for China Minmetals' achievements in recent years as well as its future. Mr. Alexander Machkevitch said that ERG had a long history of friendly & cooperative ties with Chinese companies in its business involved domains such as the exploitation & smelting of ferrous and non-ferrous metal resources as well as exploitation of energy resources and logistics, with multiple mining projects developed successfully in recent years, and that it had become a natural resources company with a big influence all along the route of the "Belt and Road Initiative". He also emphasized that in the future, according to the development plan for both parties, ERG would further strengthen its business cooperation with China Minmetals, and jointly promote the development of both parties.

Mr. Benedikt Sobotka, ERG's CEO and Mr. Jiao Jian, Vice President of China Minmetals, attended the meeting. Wang Yun and Ti Mo from ERG, as well as Xing Yan, Liu Qingchun and Zhu Lina from relevant departments of China Minmetals and directly subordinated enterprises, also attended the meeting.
